PostDoc Project
Title:
Research Engineer or Postdoctoral Position in Computer/Industrial Engineering
Dates:
2025/02/02 - 2025/07/31
Supervisor(s):
Description:
Context

As part of the BYWall project, funded by ADEME-CHROS, the consortium comprising Bouygues Construction,
ARaymond, CRAN, and LS2N aims to tackle the challenge of ener-gy massification through the development of
a comprehensive and integrated "Off-Site" Ex-ternal Thermal Insulation (ETI) solution by combining
technological innovation, logistics, and robotics.

The CRAN is responsible for Work Package 3: Production & Logistics Organization, which focuses on designing
an innovative organizational model based on the concept of a temporary factory. This model aims to combine
the advantages of traditional off-site construction and local prefabrication while leveraging an ecosystem of
local prefabricators to maximize logistics efficiency and reduce the environmental footprint.

Several PhD students and postdoctoral researchers are addressing the scientific challenges associated with this
objective, with a strong focus on development.
Position Objectives

To support those works, a research engineer will be recruited to coordinate, develop, and integrate associated
digital and logistical solutions. This position lies at the intersection of indus-trial engineering, logistics, and
digital technologies applied to construction.
Key Responsibilities
1. Coordination and Technical Interface:
Support the scientific leader and project team in defining functional requirements and technical
specifications.
Participate in follow-up meetings with consortium partners as a technical interface.
Ensure the coherence and integration of solutions developed by the various partners.

2. Development and Technical Management:

Assist in managing the human and technical resources allocated to the project.
Advise other developers on the project in areas of expertise, particularly in Python, Java, and .NET
development.
Contribute to the creation of digital twins integrated into a 4D BIM environment to opti-mize logistics
processes on construction sites.

3. Management and Knowledge Dissemination:

Organize and structure technology watch activities to identify emerging tools and methods in the field.
Plan and oversee experiments, ensuring their validation and interpretation.
Disseminate and valorize results through presentations, publications, and knowledge trans-fer to research
support engineers.

4. Training and Safety:

Train and inform teams on experimental systems and technologies used in the project.
Ensure compliance with safety standards in experimental environments.
