SUMMARY:Soutenance de these Mira Khalil - these confidentielle
DESCRIPTION:Titre : Low-dimensional observer design with robust convergence
guarantees for lithium-ion batteries: from a single cell to multiple cel
ls\n\nRésumé : The global demand for lithium-ion batteries is surging as
the world looks to rapidly electrify vehicles and store renewable energy.
Compared to other energy storage technologies\, these batteries are disti
nguished by their light-weight\, high weight and volumic power density\, l
ow self-discharge and no memory effect. Nevertheless\, this type of batter
ies require a battery management system (BMS) to make them safe\, reliable
and efficient. The BMS needs to be fed with accurate information on the s
tate of the battery for this purpose. Unfortunately\, some key battery var
iables cannot be measured directly by sensors\, which means that they have
to be estimated. The state of charge (SOC) is one example of an unmeasura
ble internal battery state that must be estimated. Various approaches exis
t in the literature to estimate the battery SOC. Most of them are dedicate
d to single cell batteries. However\, in practice\, lithium-ion batteries
consist of multiple cells associated in series or in parallel. Duplicating
mono-cell approaches on each cell of the battery may lead to computation
and implementation issues. For this reason\, we need to develop low-comput
ational estimation tools\, that are easy to implement\, adapted to multi-c
ell batteries: such solutions are presented in this PhD thesis.\n\nComposi
