SUMMARY:Séminaire de David Meister
DESCRIPTION:- Lien Teams : lien teams\n\n- Titre : When event-triggered co
ntrol pays off… or not: Breaking points and the nature of consistency\n\
n- Résumé : In many digital control systems\, sampling incurs non-neglig
ible costs\, for example due to the use of limited communication or comput
ation resources\, as is common in networked control systems. Event-trigger
ed control (ETC) offers a promising approach to reduce the sampling rate i
n closed-loop systems while still achieving control objectives such as sta
bility and performance. However\, the essence of consistent ETC schemes -
i.e.\, schemes that outperform periodic control in terms of control perfor
mance and sampling efficiency - is still not well understood in many setti
ngs.\nIn this talk\, we investigate fundamental breaking points at which E
TC schemes fail to deliver such advantages and thereby derive insights int
o the underlying principles of consistent ETC schemes.\nIn addition\, we p
resent a practical project our group has been pursuing over the past few y
ears on autonomous e-scooters. We discuss the potential of this applicatio
n\, advocating autonomous micromobility systems\, and how insights from ev
ent-triggered control can benefit such robotics projects.
