Description
## Context and Objective

The JUNEAU project aims to build a digital twin of the pediatric emergency department in Saint-Étienne, incorporating human intervention. This digital twin is composed of three distinct parts:

1. **The physical twin**: Corresponds to the emergency department itself. 2. **The digital twin**: Handles data processing, simulation, and analysis. 3. **The expert**: Refers to healthcare professionals.

## Mission

As part of the development of the digital twin, it is essential to design a simulation model capable of representing the state of the physical system. The methodological approach to follow includes the following steps:

* **Design**: Conceptualize the model. * **Programming**: Develop the model. * **Implementation**: Deploy an agent-based model.

To achieve this, the recommended approach is to develop a model based on an **event log**.

## Tools and Methodology

For developing the simulation model, it is possible to consider the use of dedicated platforms such as **AnyLogic** or **FlexSim**. These platforms can be evaluated and compared in order to identify the most suitable one based on usability criteria and the context of implementation.

## Internship Topic

The proposed internship focuses on assisting in the creation of the simulation model by exploring the following two alternatives:

### 1. AnyLogic

* Study the features and capabilities of AnyLogic for agent-based modeling. * Develop a prototype simulation model using AnyLogic. * Evaluate the performance and limitations of the developed model. * Compare the obtained results with the expectations of the JUNEAU project.

### 2. FlexSim

* Study the features and capabilities of FlexSim for agent-based modeling. * Develop a prototype simulation model using FlexSim. * Evaluate the performance and limitations of the developed model. * Compare the obtained results with the expectations of the JUNEAU project.

## Internship Objectives

* Explore and master the simulation tools AnyLogic and FlexSim. * Develop agent-based simulation models for the digital twin of the pediatric emergency department. * Compare the two platforms in terms of features, performance, and suitability for the project's needs. * Provide recommendations on the most appropriate platform for the continuation of the JUNEAU project.

## Expected Deliverables

* A detailed report on the features and capabilities of both platforms. * Prototype simulation models developed with AnyLogic and FlexSim. * A comparison of the performance and limitations of both models. * Recommendations for selecting the most suitable platform.
