Description
This six-month internship, based in Longwy, focuses on the development and validation of an intelligent embedded sensor dedicated to Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs). It is set within the context of autonomous driving, which requires real-time estimation of critical variables (inter-vehicle distance, speed, acceleration, orientation) despite uncertainties, sensor faults, parameter variations, and cyberattacks.

The main objective is to implement a nonlinear observer on an STM32 microcontroller running a real-time operating system (RTOS), transitioning from a continuous-time formulation to a discrete-time implementation (?100 Hz). The internship also involves designing and executing a comprehensive test plan (functional validation, real-time performance, robustness, fault/attack injection, endurance testing) culminating in an end-to-end demonstration integrating sensors (IMU, GPS), embedded state estimation, and communication.

The internship, therefore, covers: - definition of system requirements and HW/SW architecture, - firmware development and sensor driver implementation, - full system integration, - experimental validation in an environment combining embedded electronics, signal processing, and system safety.
